‘Te Toki Te Wai’ – The Adze The Stream

Te Toki Te Wai- The Adze The StreamA pou symbolising the Adze from which Te toki stream gets its name. The curves in the Koru symbolise stream’s running water patterns, the wetlands/estuary and finally Anzac Bay where it flows out to. The bird is the Kuaka (godwit) which has been sighted again on the estuary after coming home from its long flight. Forde credits this to the massive progress made through plantings and cleaning up of the waterways around Waiheke. Carved from a Jarrah railway sleeper.
