Roughly translated, Koneke means ‘This place’. This piece was temporarily placed at a home on Oneroa Beach by the Waiheke Community Art Gallery as part of the inaugural ‘Wonderful Waiheke House Tour’. However, as seems to happen often with Forde’s works, the home’s owners couldn’t part with it and so it will stay, gracing their beautiful property and gazing seaward.
