A Commission. 4 meters high and made of Jarrah.
Forde explains; “I was asked to make a something for a very special family who are valued customers and valued people in my life. They wanted something to look after and make a statement at the front of their beautiful/Ataahua holiday bach. This piece came about through meeting discussing and feeling. Each symbol down the cloak represents a member of their family/Whaanau. The end result has even left me quite stunned. I have had neighbours come up and say, ‘Thank you, we feel really looked after now.’ As an artist moments like that are what we cherish. ”
